INTRODUCTION

J.N. Aier College was formally inaugurated on 28th May 2011. The College has been established with the approval of Government of Nagaland and Nagaland University. J.N. Aier College is a coed institution. The College is affiliated to Nagaland University. This institution offers Bachelor Degree Course in Arts Stream. The College comprises of two main buildings. The North Block houses Class Rooms, Common Room, Chapel and the South Block houses Library, Administrative Office and attached Boy's and Girl's Hostels.

The J.N. Aier College seeks a challenging position in a dynamic environment, where we can utilize our skills, proficiency and with the gift of our experiences in initiating students in prospective horizons, thereby finding a vocation in which each individual is best fit for. We always believed that one should impart the kind of education that keeps the food, clothing, parental care, morality, religion, customs of the time, and yet endeavor greater heights to discover and nurture the talents in the fold, inspiring them to unveil the essence and mysteries of knowledge, wisdom and truth so that they can fend for the common good and ultimately for themselves. We impressed upon the dignity of labour because, the underlying is contentment and collective prosperity. Our attitude remains- "these souls are mine to make, to mould, and to push them into noticed corners".

LOCATION

J.N. Aier College is located at C- Khel 4th Mile, Diphupar, Chümoukedima : Nagaland. The College is very much assessable for the Students as it is just about 150 Meters away from the main Highway 29.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE

  • The College Conducts various activities for developing social, Moral and spiritual values.
  • The College Conducts fellowship every Wednesday and Saturday as well as Spiritual Camp once in a year.
  • The College also gives Career Guidance Seminars, Personal Counseling, Leadership Trainings, retreats etc.
  • Chapels are conducted everyday.
  • Every student is placed under the guardianship of Assistant Professor.

Aier College, we strive to nurture complete development in our students so that they become valuable assets to society and humanity at large. To achieve this goal, the entire academic year remains vibrant with curricular and co-curricular activities, planned and participated in enthusiastically by students, faculty, and the administration. We ensure that every student who becomes a part of this college develops to their fullest potential, receiving constant care and attention. We thank God and take pride in producing toppers every year.

Mentor–Mentee Program

The college has a strong working Mentor-Mentee (Guardianship) program. A Mentor–Mentee Program (Guardianship) is an institutional initiative designed to provide academic, emotional, and professional support to students by pairing them with experienced faculty members. The program aims to guide learners throughout their academic journey, helping them adjust to the college environment, overcome challenges, encourage them to take part in extra-curricular and achieve holistic development.

Objectives of the Program

  1. Smooth Transition: To help students adapt to the academic and social environment of the college.
  2. Personal Guidance: To provide individual attention, counseling, and continuous support to students.
  3. Academic Improvement: To monitor academic progress and suggest strategies for better performance.
  4. Career Orientation: To offer guidance on career planning, internships, higher studies, and skill development.
  5. Holistic Growth: To build leadership qualities, ethical values, and emotional resilience.
  6. Build confidence: To encourage the students to take part in extra-curricular activities to build their confidence and make them confident to face the society.

Structure of the Program

  • Each student (mentee) is assigned a faculty mentor at the beginning of the academic year.
  • Mentors maintain a record of each student's academic performance, attendance, achievements, and concerns.
  • Regular mentor–mentee meetings are organized to track progress and discuss academic or personal issues.
  • Group mentoring sessions, workshops, and counselling activities are conducted to address common challenges.

  • Maintain confidentiality and create a safe space for communication.

Committee & Activities

Magazine Editorial Board

The Magazine Editorial Board of J. N. Aier College fosters creativity and academic expression among students and faculty. In addition to the annual college magazine featuring creative and reflective contributions, the Board published "Epistime" in 2024, a multidisciplinary journal showcasing research by faculty and external scholars.

Discipline Committee

The Discipline Committee plays a key role in maintaining order, safety, and a positive learning environment in the college. It ensures that students follow rules, behave responsibly, and show respect, while addressing misconduct fairly and focusing on corrective guidance to sustain a peaceful and productive campus atmosphere.

Social Welfare and Cultural Committee

The Social Welfare and Cultural Committee is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and non-teaching staff. It organizes welfare-oriented programmes and cultural activities, including the annual cultural event, to extend help where needed and to preserve and promote cultural heritage within the college community.

Eco Club

The Eco Club works to build environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices on campus. It observes key environmental days and undertakes activities such as Swachh Bharat participation, campus cleanliness drives, tree plantation, and social work to promote an environmentally conscious college community.

Extra-Curricular Activities Committee

The Extra-Curricular Activities Committee plans and organizes programmes that support the holistic development of students beyond academics. Through activities held mainly on alternate Saturdays, including inter-guardianship competitions, debates, quizzes, cultural events, and creative contests, the committee helps students discover talents, build confidence, and enjoy healthy competition.

NCC Unit

Established in 2019, the J. N. Aier College NCC Unit nurtures discipline, leadership, and civic responsibility through structured training and community-oriented activities. Cadets participate in adventure camps, parades, competitions, and outreach programmes such as blood donation, cleanliness drives, and disaster response initiatives, reflecting the NCC motto of "Unity and Discipline."

NSS Unit

The NSS Unit of J. N. Aier College, Chümoukedima, promotes social responsibility and national development through sustained community service. Volunteers engage in blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, and awareness programmes on health, environment, and civic issues, while also taking part in state and national-level camps and youth festivals.

Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon Club of J. N. Aier College promotes awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support among students. Volunteers engage in rallies, seminars, pledge campaigns, and blood donation drives to combat stigma and encourage healthy lifestyles. Through these initiatives, the club fosters a compassionate campus committed to public health and social well-being.

Sports and Games Committee

The college Sports and Games Committee promotes physical fitness and healthy competition among students through organized sports activities including cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. The committee plans annual sports calendars, organizes departmental tournaments and coaching sessions, maintains sports facilities and equipment, and prepares students for inter-college, state, and national level competitions while fostering sportsmanship and teamwork.
